Motivated leader with over 20 years experience provided in a variety of settings working with youth and adults with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors. Highly proficient in the following areas: residential services for children and adults with developmental disabilities, clinical services, establishment of licensed group homes for youth (with history of abuse/neglect). Manages operations with dedication to those served and effective communication to all employees. Exceptional skills in administration, training and coaching of employees, budgeting and program development. Linda enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and quoting her favorite movies.

Askia is a people person. With over 15 years of experience, from working as a Direct Care worker to Case Management, he definitely understands the business, and how to motivate all that encounters him. Askia is a team player and depends on talented individuals to work as a team. As Askia maintain the operations, he always keeps an eye out for ways to improve Unified Residential Homes by deepening the pipeline of talent, constantly raising the level of talent through strong hires, and providing opportunities to develop existing team member skills. Askia loves movies, comedy and traveling.

Program Director

Julia DeFer has been working in the field of children and adults with developmental disabilities and mental health issues for seventeen years. She has studied fire science and psychology. Julia’s greatest joys are the times spent working with children and adults that have developmental disabilities. Julia has dedicated her life and her home to assisting these individual with her experience, leadership and ensuring the quality of self-improvement through daily living skills, social activities and maintaining mental and physical health of the members we serve. Julia has a passion for overall professional development of our employees, identifying professional deficiencies so we always strive to find opportunities for growth. In her spare time Julia enjoys spending time with her family, having BBQ’s and being active.

General House Manager

Lorena has managed and worked in the group home setting for the last 13 years, starting out as a Direct Staff member. She was promoted to lead staff in 4 months. Shortly thereafter she was offered and accepted a management position, managing 30 employees and over 4 group homes. Leading weekly team meetings, setting up ISP‘s, IEP’s, medical reviews, family coordination, planned schedules, and transportation.

Maritza has been working with children and adults with Developmental Disabilities and
challenging behaviors for the past seven years. Her positions and job functions have gradually
advanced throughout her years starting as a Direct Care Worker, quickly being promoted to
house manager. There her knowledge, attention to detail and her strong leadership capabilities soon set her apart from the rest. She was promoted to Office Manager and now spearheads our daily clerical operations including, ensuring our personnel files comply for audits and monitoring. Maritza’s role as Office Manager plays a key factor to every aspect of Unified Residentials Organization becoming “URH’s Go to Girl!”

Katy Andrews has been working with children and adults with developmental disabilities for 8 years. She moved to Arizona 4 1/2 years ago from New Jersey. She studied nursing and worked in the field for 8 years before she found her passion working with adults and children 8 years ago. She became the assistant director of a therapeutic riding center in New Jersey. Her love for this industry grew by the day. She enjoys learning something new every day on how to best support the staff and clients become more successful setting and achieving their goals. She enjoy working along side of the staff to help educate them on new ways to best support the clients we serve. Katy will be furthering her education studying to become a behavior analyst. In her spare time Katy enjoys spending time with her three children riding horses, camping, baseball, bbs’s, the beach and swimming.
